How Imidjeologia creates music with AI

At Imidjeologia, making music brings together the creator’s vision and generative tools. Original poetry, observations and musical interests set the direction. A language model and a generative music system help develop the material; the creator decides what becomes part of the project.

Where a song begins

The starting point might be a poem, a conversation, an everyday detail or an interest in a particular musical form. A more precise question follows: what is worth keeping in this idea?

The album Pass It On centres on situations where people pay attention to each other. A walk continues for one more block. Another mug appears at the table. A first attempt brings a smile and the wish for another try.

These details help guide the work. They offer a point of reference as the wording changes, new versions appear or a choice needs to be made between different approaches.

How generative tools take part

A language model helps develop text variants, refine wording and shape descriptions of the intended musical direction. A generative music system creates musical versions with synthetic vocals.

The tools serve different purposes. A written description expresses an intention; a generated musical version provides material for the next decision. The direction can be refined as the work develops, with other approaches tried along the way.

The creator’s voice comes through in the poetry, the choice of subject, the attention to detail and the artistic decisions. Vocals produced by the generative system are synthetic. We are open about these roles.

How a version becomes part of the project

The work continues once the versions exist. There are decisions to make about how well a version fits the vision, what to develop and where the song belongs among the others.

On Pass It On, that choice includes the sequence: One More Block comes first and It Worked comes last. A walk worth extending gradually leads to a move worth repeating.

The project takes shape through the initial idea, work with the tools and a series of artistic decisions. On the site, the song stories offer a closer look, while small games invite you to try an action inspired by them.
