How we create music with AI: from an idea to artistic choices
At Imidjeologia, music begins with the creator’s original poetry, observations and musical interests. Generative tools help develop this foundation. Artistic choices then connect individual versions into work worth sharing.
First, what do we want to share?
A song has a starting point: a poem, an observation, a conversation or an interest in a musical form. At this stage, the aim is to understand what is worth keeping and how it belongs within the larger vision.
In the debut album Pass It On, different stories share a wish to keep a good moment going. A walk, a shared table and a first attempt give each song its own action. This common thread brings six independent scenes together as one album.
The article about the album explores how the six songs connect in their chosen order.
An idea takes different forms
Dialogue with a language model helps develop words and style briefs. A generative music system creates musical versions and synthetic vocal parts. Different voices and forms become part of finding how to express the original idea.
Each version calls for attention to detail. The creator compares versions, refines the direction and decides which one fits the vision. The process includes work on words, musical decisions and the choice of release format.
The project page shows this process step by step.
Choices continue beyond a single recording
One example of an artistic decision is the order of the songs on the debut album. Pass It On opens with “One More Block” and ends with “It Worked”. The first story extends a walk; the closing story invites someone to try a new movement. The sequence connects different scenes through one idea: wanting a good moment to continue.
On the site, the journey continues through written stories and games inspired by the songs. The debut’s release date has not yet been announced. These process notes offer a closer look at the artistic choices already connecting the project.
